If I didn’t live in Australia I could learn about climate change when I went shopping. Say I lived in England, and say I went down to Tescos for some eggs, I could have a look at the carbon label showing the amount in grams of greenhouse gas emissions (called CO2e) that were emitted as a result of growing, packaging, transporting and storing the eggs. I’d also get a few tips on how to reduce the eggs footprint when I cooked them. I could pick up some cereal and have a look at how its carbon footprint compared with my eggs, and deliberate on a breakfast choice for the environment. This is one way of providing education to large populations on climate change. ‘labels’
