Probably there’s no rhetoric as well used on climate change as ‘future generations.’ Last week in Melbourne the Australian Youth Climate Coalition (AYCC) launched a practical opportunity to contribute to their future through monthly donations.
What makes AYCC’s work so important? Keynote speaker Robert Manne deliberated on the reasons. One: climate change is the greatest moral issue of our times. Two: climate change is youth’s issue – they will live with its consequences. The older generation owes the younger one support. Three: AYCC is an energetic and well-directed movement which encourages leadership.
AYCC’s membership has grown from 10,000 to 50,000 in the past year. Don Henry of the Australian Conservation Foundation joined Manne in encouraging donors to put the AYCC on a sustainable footing. Link here for donations or bequests.
